It’s been a while since our last update, with a lot of progress being made at the 7 Shea Terrace site. We are now only weeks away from completing our vital redevelopment project!
Completion date brought forward
We are very excited to let you know that our completion date has come forward, making us on track for a mid-December finish which is several months ahead of the original completion date.
If you’ve driven or walked past the site, you would’ve seen that the roof is in place and the scaffolding is coming down. This month, stormwater and drainage is being upgraded and in the next two months internal works, garden landscaping, security and hard landscaping (asphalt etc) will be completed.
Inside, a great deal of work is taking place to add whānau spaces to our Inpatient Unit and to create a fully functional community wing and staff facilities to help meet demand for hospice services in the coming decades.

This is really something to celebrate after such a roller coaster journey over the past two years with the impacts of Covid-19 and the enormous challenges for our staff who have been juggling clinical care within a building site. To you, we’d like to say a very big thank you for your patience as this work has continued in your neighbourhood.
