On Saturday 24 June we held the official opening of our refurbished North Shore facility at 7 Shea Tce, Takapuna. Many years in the planning and close to two years in the making, it was wonderful to be able to show the completed $20 million project to our 200 guests made up of generous donors, supporters, local businesses, staff and volunteers.
For many of our guests, being able to see the completed building for the first time was emotional. They and their families have been a huge part of our journey - from the pioneering volunteers who founded hospice 40 years ago, to those who have tirelessly fundraised for Hospice, generously donated funding for Hospice or specifically this project, or generously given their time and expertise.
What consistently came up in the speeches and in the conversations throughout the marquee was the absolute faith that all those involved had in their ability as a collective unit to provide the community with much-needed hospice services. It was because of that unwavering belief and support that we are here today - and that we have this beautiful new facility for our community.
