MediMap now restored

Unauthorised activity was recently identified within the MediMap platform, resulting in some tūroro/patients’ demographic records being incorrectly modified. MediMap has now confirmed that a very small number of Harbour Hospice patient records were accessed during this incident. 

MediMap has assured us that nothing was changed, deleted or extracted, and no clinical or medication information was involved. We are currently contacting these tūroro/patients directly. 

While the investigation was underway, MediMap was taken offline as a precaution. During this time, our teams moved to our well‑established manual systems to ensure medications continued to be given safely, accurately and on time.  

MediMap is now operating again, and MediMap is continuing to work closely with Health New Zealand and sector partners to support a safe and controlled restoration of services. 

Protecting tūroro/patient confidentiality, and maintaining the highest standards of care and safety, remains our priority.
