This week marks National Volunteer Week, and to celebrate we’re launching a series of heartwarming videos that celebrate our volunteers and the valuable contribution they make.
The 12 videos were created as a collaboration with external video production company, Pure Productions. A hero video featuring several volunteers tells the wider picture of Harbour Hospice and the place its volunteers have, and 11 shorter videos share the stories of individual volunteers.
“They’re funny, they’re moving, they’re inspiring and they’re real,” says Volunteer Services Team Leader Vicki Parker. “And they really do remind us just how lucky we are to have our wonderful volunteers.”
Harbour Hospice is supported by more than 1200 volunteers who make a difference every day in our shops, kitchens and gardens, as community visitors, drivers, and more. They’re integral to the delivery of our services and always will be, says Harbour Hospice Chief Executive Amanda Fowler.
“Our volunteers bring depth, heart, and a richness of perspective that money can’t buy. They play an important part in creating the beautiful environment we work in, and we can’t thank them enough.”
Towards the end of July Harbour Hospice will also recognise our long-serving volunteers and staff at our annual Long Service Awards for between five and 35 years of service.
