Harbour Hospice Dressed shop opening in Devonport

28 July 2026

The countdown is on! Our new Devonport hospice shop will open its doors on Wednesday 29 July, at 12 noon!

The new space, at 83 Victoria Rd, Devonport, will be known as ‘Harbour Hospice Dressed'. It will be open seven days a week and sell fashion (men's, women's and children's) as well as shoes and accessories.

Retail Manager Tess McGregor, who manages our existing Devonport shop, will manage this one as well, with the support of extra volunteers.

She says there has been lots of excitement in the community around the new shop, with some locals preparing to take the day off work to be among the first to step through its front doors.

“It's a beautiful space,” she says. "The feel of it is very New York loft, I think it fits beautifully with the village's charming aesthetic. We've really worked hard to be sympathetic to the heritage of the area and its olde world charm.”

The existing shop will remain, and open five days a week, Wednesday to Sunday. It will sell smaller pieces of furniture alongside homeware and curiosities that are a little bit different, not your average find.

Tess plans to always have a small upcycling project on the go in the corner of the existing shop that she hopes will generate conversations about customers' own upcycling projects. “Our new assistant manager, who starts with us very soon, is a keen upcycler so he'll be able to help people with ideas and advice,” she says.

Having two stores in the village will help us raise additional funding for tūroro/patient and family and whānau services, as well as provide even more sustainable shopping choices in Devonport.
