Syringe Driver Competency

This course equipes Registered Nurses with the theoretical and practical knowledge and skills required to manage a subcutaneous syringe driver in their place of work. Successful completion of a practical assessment and a written test is required for certification. This training can be delivered at your workplace by arrangement.

Harbour Hospice delivers the Syringe Driver Competency program throughout the year, please refer to our education calendar for dates and times. Onsite training can be arranged, a minimum of 5 and maximum of 10 attendees are required.

Cost: $70 inc GST. Registration is essential.

Syringe Driver Extended Competency

This competency program is designed for Registered Nurses who practice within aged care facility who may need to prepare their own syringe driver syringes to manage patients within their setting. Prerequisite to this programme;

  • To be a Registered Nurse with current Annual Practicing Certificate (ACP).
  • Prior attendance and Certification of Syringe Driver Competency program (within 12 months).
