Clinical Student Visits

Harbour Hospice is proactive in maintaining strong links with tertiary education providers and arranges undergraduate clinical placements for Medical, Nursing and Paramedic students. During their time with us, students are supported to develop their knowledge and skills relating to care of patients, families and whānau who are living with a life limiting condition.

Students are encouraged to be involved in multidisciplinary team meetings and community visits, and to attend in-house multidisciplinary teaching sessions. Students are also made aware of the importance of consent, privacy, dignity, compassion and confidentiality, both within the organisation and in the delivery of individualised, patient-centered care.
