Programmes for patients, families, whānau & carers

Programmes for patients, families, whānau & carers

Harbour Hospice offers a range of programmes for patients, family, whānau members and for carers at each of our centres. This means support is available in your local community. If transport is an issue for you, we can arrange for a volunteer driver to help.

As Hospice sites have been classified as “vulnerable sites” by the Ministry of Health, we are taking additional measures to ensure we’re doing everything we can to keep our patients, families, staff and volunteers safe.

For this reason, we’ve made the difficult but necessary decision to postpone all Harbour Hospice group activities until further notice.

We understand that this will be disappointing for many and apologise for the impact this decision may have. However, we trust that you will understand why this action is needed and thank you in advance for your patience and support during this challenging time.

Life Stories

I call it positive palliative care; it acknowledges the fact that I am not well but I’ve still got a life to live.
