Harbour Hospice provides specialist palliative care services to patients and families living on the Hibiscus Coast, on the North Shore and in the Warkworth and Wellsford communities. We operate from three main sites at Red Beach, Takapuna and Warkworth. We are a values based organisation and take pride in working with and caring for people in our communities.

About The Role

We are looking for a practical, reliable and self-motivated person to attend to repairs and maintenance for the Hibiscus and Tui House, Warkworth facilities and local Retail Shops. This role is for a fixed term of 12 months. This role is for 16 hours a week, ideally split across 4 days, with flexibility around the days. 

You will be responsible for:

  • Preventative and reactive maintenance for all buildings, facilities, equipment and vehicles, including fire and emergency system compliance
  • Asset management
  • Coordination of contractors, suppliers and volunteers
  • Retail shop maintenance
  • Loan equipment cleaning
  • Reporting

About You

Ideal applicants will have basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, building, and carpentry skills and flexibility to manage the occasional after-hours duties or calls in emergencies.

Good written and oral communication skills, efficient scheduling and time management skills and ability to use tools and equipment safely are also key requirements for this role. As some heavy-lifting is involved, a high standard of health and fitness is required.
