Wonderfish Collective with Strings Attached

Sat 6 April and Sat 13 April 2019

TAPAC, 100 Motions Road, Western Springs

Four song writers from eclectic folk/rock group the Wonderfish Collective (Al Baxter, Robbie McKegg, Alex McKegg and Nick Edgar) present two concerts, performing their original material along with other Collective members and string musicians.

The first half of the concerts will be an intimate affair with the band consisting of Nick and Alex on guitar, Al banjo/guitar, Emily Allen violin/viola, Maxine Cunliffe cello, Glenn Coldham bass and Rusty Knox drums. The Crooked String Quartet (Helen Crook, Emily Allen, Robyn Strange and Maxine Cuncliffe) also make a guest appearance.

Things step up in the second half when more ‘strings are attached’. The singers and band will be joined by a 16-piece string orchestra drawn largely from the Devonport Chamber Orchestra. The orchestra will be led by Wonderfish Collective member Helen Crook, and the talented Ryan Youens will conduct and write the orchestral arrangements.

All profits will be donated to Harbour Hospice to provide patient and family care in the North Shore community.
