Our long-running wearable arts competition is a highly entertaining show and a fantastic opportunity for creative minds. If you found or rediscovered your inner artist during lockdown, why not be part of this fun performance event?
A long-running fundraiser for Harbour Hospice, Catwalk Arts features fantastic creations by adults, children, families and business and community groups, with a focus on innovative use of waste materials.
By entering Catwalk Arts you can play a vital role in helping Harbour Hospice provide free palliative care services in our Warkworth/Wellsford community.
This years categories are:
- Fantastical Families
- Wearable Advertising
- Amazing Aotearoa
- Bizarre Bras
- Marvellous Mannequins
With recycling in mind, designers are encouraged to find creative ways to use materials found around the house; previous entries have incorporated papier mache, plastic milk bottles, wood veneer, cassette tapes, chook netting and baling twine. Additional items can be sourced cheaply from the 17 hospice shops between Te Hana and Devonport; their locations can be found here.
Entries will be judged by a panel of fashion, art and design experts. Each category winner receives a cash prize and a unique tile handmade by Morris and James especially for this event.
Tickets will be on sale, both online and at specific locations, nearer the event. If you're interested in entering the competition, please email us now for an entry form.
