Raised over $600 with creative school fundraiser

11-year-old Browns Bay School student Amelie Wells used her sewing and entrepreneurial skills to raise funds for Hospice and give thanks for the care her Dad received.

She first offered the scrunchies at her dance school, then due to popular demand she begun selling them at Pinehurst School and taking orders to fill hot demand!

“Hospice is a wonderful charity and they supported my family and looked after my Dad when he was sick. I’ve always wanted to say thanks,” says Amelie.

This unique fundraising idea was a family affair with sister Tilly and Grandma Jane helping to cut and Mum hand sewing the scrunchies closed. “I have my own sewing machine so decided to put my sewing skills to good use.”
